How to Help Your Child Have a Healthy Smile

Posted .

Your child deserves a strong and healthy smile. This type of smile can help your child talk, chew, and eat normally. It can also help your child have the confidence they need to pose for pictures and socialize. In order to help your child have the top-notch smile they deserve, our dentists, Dr. Lund and Dr. Markham, encourage you to do certain things regularly. Those things are:

-Clean their smile frequently (Just brush their teeth twice a day and floss their teeth and gumline once a day. As you brush, use a child-sized brush that has soft bristles. Don’t introduce fluoride toothpaste until your child is 2 years old.)

-Bring them in for a checkup every six months (These appointments provide treatments that will deeply clean your child’s smile, nourish their teeth, and even treat any dental issues if necessary.)

-Cover and protect their teeth with dental sealants (Dental sealants are thin shells that cover the teeth and keep tooth decay and enamel erosion at bay.)
